Marking the moments
of a life in faith.

From the font at birth, to the altar, to the graveside — the Church walks with every soul in the Roses, at every turning.

An Introduction

Signs of God's grace, given in the Church.

The sacraments are the tangible, lived moments in which the Church welcomes us, forgives us, feeds us, binds us together in love, ordains us to service, and prepares us for eternity.

In a rural parish like ours, they are also the great gathering points of the community — when Scoil Mhuire’s Second Class children line up in white, when a funeral procession winds down the Kincasslagh road, when a young couple say their vows looking out at the Atlantic.

Church
Catechism · §1131

“The sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us.”

- Catechism of the Catholic Church

How Preparation Works

Three simple steps for every sacrament.

01.

Contact the Parish Office

Call 074 954 3105 or email parish@kincasslaghparish.ie. We will send you the relevant forms, required certificates, and a proposed date.

02.

Meet with the priest

An informal meeting to walk through the rite, answer your questions, and agree the details — readings, music, ministers, godparents.

03.

Celebrate with the community

The sacrament is celebrated publicly within the Mass or rite, surrounded by family and the wider parish community.
